TKZEE, Jozi and Skwatta Kamp in Cape Town

This week, MTN brought some ayobaness (it was so fun to write that!) to Cape Town. The venue, Chrome nightclub, is a nightmare. A very angry doorman, Zizi, was super rude to us, despite us being on guestlist, he barked that it was closed. After paying, he molested my co-colleagues hands with a stamp. I declined to get a stamp because I didn't feel like getting my arm bruised by an aggro, spitting man (not ayoba!). He told me that he wouldn't recognise me if I left. I think that was supposed to make me scared. Zizi; more love, less angry little man vibes next time at the door see? Anywhoo, pop the hood for party pics, performance reviews and advice about clubbing in Cape Town.

That was the worst part of the evening. I had fun almost as soon as I walked in! The event was MC-ed by Phat Joe, who seems more subdued on stage than the heeectic reports I've been reading about him. He was there with his fiance.

Skwatta Kamp were the first act on, and as usual, they gave a good performace. I bumped into Slikour after the performance, he is so well mannered! The guys all chilled in the VIP area and for such a big group they are all so well behaved! No scandalous stories to report.

Next up, TKZEE. OMG! They are SO good live! I was a bit worried as there have been murmurs about the group but they KILLED it. Cape Town loved them! I was dancing (if you know me you know I'm not a big dancer) so much and screaming their lyrics back to them! I hung out with their manager, Refiloe Ramogase, the next day and he was giving me the scoop about their plans next year, and I'm so excited! I love a group that has vision beyond the immediate. All I can reveal is that TKZee will be very visible, in all the right places in 2010. As usual we will bring you the scoop closer to the time.

Jozi came on after TKZee. For now it looks like it is just LES and Ishmael in the group. I met their manager Lance Stehr who was giving me a bit of a *side eye* for one of the stories I had written about the group. I think I'm forgiven though.
I spotted Cherrie Flave watching the performance from backstage...

Shout out to MTN, Lance,Patron, and my companions for a good night out.
And Chrome: speak to your angry workers at the door and clean your toilets, they are veil.
I know I've used a lot of exclamation marks in the post, I'm feeling so festive! Have a fabulous week!
