Nine Movie Premiere

I’m here , I’m there, I'm almost everywhere and on Sunday I was at The Zone in Rosebank where Ster Kinekor and Total Exposure hosted a red carpet evening for Jozi’s elite for the premiere of Nine, a musical film based on the Italian film industry. The event was dubbed an Oscar night as the film itself was nominated in four different categories at this year’s Academy Awards. Although they did not win anything, it’s still a great movie for those who love the arts and more so theatre.

Not a star studded movie, but the screen was graced by Daniel Day- Lewis, Nicole Kidman and British actress Judi Dench (The woman from the Bond movies). It’s about a film director who has trouble in both his personal life and professional life. In the midst of his cheating ways and lack of creativity, he learns that in order for things to go right in his life, he has to change his ways to unlock his greatness. Funny how some people within the entertainment industry always blame the industry for their cheating ways, they don’t seem to find themselves compelled by morality. Great lessons to be learned in this movie I think and a few seductive dancing skills to be learned too. I’m not amazed by the fact that Penelope Cruz was nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role, her moves in this movie is enough to make any Hillbrow stripper want to lower their price for imperfections.

I arrived late for someone covering the event and I quickly had to down my drink to start scouting amongst the well dressed crowd. Babalwa Mneno was stunning in her black dress, I must say this tall lady intimidated me in a good way (and I say lady because she was that, a lady and behaved like one):

After posing for a picture with Lucia Mthiyane I gather Felicia Mabuza Shuttle is a bit.....ummm. It’s almost like she’s pompous. Well, I couldn’t be bothered, she is not of my age, but it was good to see her out and about.

Howza and Salamina are fast becoming SA’s favourite couple. I’m glad they choose the right events to attend:

I found them standing next to Pauli formerly known as Starla, a pop/rap artist who is trying to revive her musical career. I wonder what happened to the long blonde hair?

Nonetheless, she looked hot and so did model Joelle Kayembe with her cute short dress:

Stevel Marc is a sweet talker but a great person, I love how suits look on him, a tad jealous but I could never spend that much time at gym just to look good in a suit. Caught a glimpse of Uyanda Mbuli in a red dress and blue shoes. I’m not thaaat crazy about that look, I just wonder how she is doing lately...

Khanyi Mbau took the opportunity to show off her Theunis *smh*. It never rains but always drizzles in this love triangle. I wonder who is telling the truth... Other personalities who attended include the Kwela Tebza boys, actresses Sophie Ndaba and Terry Pheto and the rest. I don’t blame Penny Lebyane for wearing a long sleeve velvet dress, it was cold in the cinema. It also showed her great figure, pity I don’t have a picture to show for it. I enjoyed this one more than I did the popcorn... Hustla!
