Friday Night's Parties

My Friday night schedule was jam packed with three parties to attend. Late as I was the 1st party was not as sweet as “konfyt”. The Belvedere i went to was a bit of a let’s mingles and drink free cocktails do. It’s not encouraging seeing tables filled with empty vodka bottles even if they glow. I only spotted two familiar faces, the guy from Liquid deep and Elana Afrika, what could I possibly have to say about her? *shakes head in shame*

I went down to Inc for the MTV Base/ Cell C party only to be greeted by a long queue and the fact that my name was not on the guest list. It’s getting tiring and annoying pulling the “I am Tha Hustler” line, I RSVP’d that should be enough. Even with the lack of VIP access I managed to have fun. The one thing I have learned in this job is to ignore the misfortunes and to do what has to be done, whatever it takes so I sucked a thumb and managed to see who was being entertained with house music in the VIP section while we danced to some hip hop down stairs. Kwaito star C-ga was hanging with his friends at the top. I can’t understand how people could wear shades at night cause I would trip and fall but Mr Masebe made sure he kept his swagga dripping:

I went back down stairs only to find Stevel Marc sweating it out with a tie on. I must say the man was looking ubber fresh with a familiar jacket and he can move too.

If there is one thing you cannot do is miss HHP when he enters a place. Besides turning heads he has a huge presence (excuse the pun). I did not stay long enough to see his performance in the later on in the night but I got to see Deep Level and Kwesta from the Ventilation team. The young man has grown in confidence, with his feet on the ground, the future looks bright.

My last stop was Latinova for the Savannah party. I found DJ Vigilante on the decks and heard rumours that Hlelo and Ntando Masina where on the dance floor.

That’s how late I came to the party but my focus on getting my groove on. I also heard that David Kau was in and out of the venue in what must've 15min . Amon Mokoena was the MC for the night and other DJs I missed out on were DJ Sphectacular, Naves and the Naked DJ. I lost track of time as soon as C-Live came on. I spent most of the time watching girls with skimpy dresses trying to seduce the poor man. I am glad to report that he kept his cool and didn’t lose focus until the girls went off stage. I saw comedian Tshepo Mogale roaming around, no white shirt and black tie, I guess he must have read the blog the last time I wrote about him cause he looked hip. It was a while 'til I left for home late but the vibe at Latinova was worth it and I was sober despite the Savannah's I could have dually taken advantage of...Tha Hustler, Peace!
