When I first heard about the Kwaito old school vs new school party, I thought it was a brilliant idea to bring back and relieve the years gone by via music. Held at The Bank in Rosebank, the party was delayed with power outages for a short while but such was the determination to get the party started that a generator was organised. I had the luck of seeing a few of the rehearsals and right away, I knew that we were in for a treat. Yfm drive time show host Dineo Ranaka is an entertainer full stop. Tasked with being the MC of the night, she along with her dancers prepared great dance routines featuring the old and the new hits that are currently being blasted on radio. Oh! She also looked hot.
One thing that baffles me however is that with all these YFM parties that have being hosted, particularly the Chevy Spark parties, we still haven’t had some of the big name Dj’s that are with station at the parties? Mo Flava, Tholi B and Oskido are crowd pullers, surely they could add value to these events. Nonetheless, the 2010 Y Academy pair Josi Chave and Vinyl Angel held it down and like at the last diva party, they gave my legs some great exercise. Good for body toning too...
It was great to see Mshoza on stage even though she didn’t flash her boobs at us. I would have loved to see what a rumoured R20k boob job looks like.

I loved her dance routine but as you would expect with some of SA’s performers, lip synching...even the non dancing Bricks did that. Haai bafwethu, please, nna I am tired of listening to cd’s!
The Heineken guzzling Rhythmic Elements gave a cool performance, although they tried to dance and you could spot a sweat drip. It was hard to mimick some of the the moves they pulled - 10 points for effort. I also spotted Ishmael from Jozi who also brought back memories of my dad dancing to “Roba le theka” I thoroughly enjoyed that although the two guys that he walked into the club with would definitely make sniffer dogs sneeze.
Old age has definitely caught up with Thebe but his *coughs* moves are still with him.

Di biri tsa ko The Bank were on the tab ene bana bona, ne ba tletse mara gore ne ba butse dirope I wouldn’t know 'cause it was one of those parties where my eyes were glued on stage. L’vovo is huge man and I’m talking about his songs, he had the crowd screaming and chanting. The stage was still intact when he got off and he gave a lekker performance. I spotted a few Kaizer Chiefs players in some corner. I’m glad they go out once in a while to get whatever it is they were getting 'cause it definitely wasn't fresh air with some women sweating it out trying to get their attention.

Heard about Ms Mbau's drama causing tendencies, she should know it’s Theunis who’s running for that award this year, she must wait her turn next year if she’s *coughs* still around. Shout out to Chevy Spark and YFM. That party was on fire...
